Inside the West High School building in downtown Denver (in the arts district) you'll find the school of WCA. This school will show you how anyone, including people who are too old for most programs, are at risk of dropping out, or don't have the required credits to graduate, a key to their future.
Before the 2013 year, it was simply an intervention program. Nowadays, it's it's own program, and students 16-20 can choose to go here. The main goal of WCA is to get you on track for success, for whatever that reason would be. Most students would drop out because much larger traditional schools wouldn't be able to help them, unlike our school, which is much smaller, but does allow you to get a more personal help with things.
Our staff work really hard to make sure you get your place in the world, from a firefighter to a music producer to a front-end web developer, but we don't just help you with your dreams. We also have other opportunities, like internships, leadership, and entrepreneurship(s) (but not spaceships- at least I don't think we do.)
Our students of course need a bit of spotlight. We get students from everywhere, and come with many of their own problems in life, from drugs, abuse, gangs, or even poverty. Here at WCA, we give you a fresh start, a new way forward from the bad and into the good. Many schools/people refer to WCA as an option, and choosing it might just be one of the best options you can take. We help everyone by helping each one individually, allowing you to get what you need from an education without all the excess stuff.
